Hi,
I'm new here and feeling quite good to join this forum. I used to read loads of reviews here. I'm looking to buy a set of headphones for around 50 bucks, my main and only requirement is BASS, I want nothing but bass. I'm too much basshead, I need highest possible level of bass in that budget, I don't care for vocals and all, I just need BASS, BASS and BASS.
Please pour in your valuable suggestions.

Thanking you in advance.

MDR-XB500! Well known for it's bass! You might like to add in around $20 to your budget thought

Welcome to Head-Fi! Sorry for your wallet

Not interested in Sony at all. :frowning2:
Can extend budget to 100 bucks, but not more than that. :frowning2:
I repeat, I need only BASS.

Might help to know what the headphones are being plugged into?

Motherboard's built in audio usually has a high impedance, might good to get headphones around the 60-Ohm range.
Low Ohm headphones will work, but chances are the bass will start sounding bloated and lose quality.
Sony MDR-XB500 are only 24-Ohms, so it's a good thing you did not want them.

Gemini HSR-1000 (Takstar Pro 80) are 60-Ohm and to me about the best sounding headphones under $100.
Fairly good amount of bass
Currently best price is at Datavision, about $84 shipped.

And how about V-Moda Crossfade LP as suggested by others earlier in this thread? Please compare its bass with XB500, just compare bass please, nothing else matters to me. Which one of both have greater bass. I got fiio e11 too to couple it up.

I know zero about the V-moda Crossfade LP, so I can't really compare.

I would say save a few dollars and just by some used XB500 off eBay ($45-$60).
The V-Mode Crossfade LP are going to cost you around $100.

Why don't you want the XB500? It would be your best option. You wanted BASS, you want XB500. :p It both has big midbass and big subbass (+15dB boost through 15 - 300Hz :p)

The price has gone up in US? Here in europe they can still be picked up for the same price they used to be. Here in Finland they cost only 39 EUR with 23% VAT included (~$50 USD). It's even usually a lot expensier in Finland due to the taxes here. But then again Sony's pricing has always been competitive here in comparision to other brands.
