Well I was looking for good circumaurals with active noise cancellation but reading through these forums made me decide to go with IEMs since they provide equal or superior noise isolation but much better sound quality.
I have narrowed down to the above 3 choices and trying to pick one out. My main concerns are bass, built quality and noise isolation.
1. Based on other reviews it seems that in terms of overall sound quality they are almost equivalent. I am a more bass heavy kind of guy so it's important to me. I rank the above 3 headphones' bass as W3>IE8>GR07.
2. I have seen few reviews of W3's left side going out after few months of use which concerns me. They also don't have interchangeable cords. I think IE8 is a winner here with replaceable cables. I haven't seen any reports of GR07's quality issues.
3. Noise isolation is important to me since I read in coffee shops a lot and fly a reasonable amount. I have a tough time figure out based on review which of the 3 has best noise isolation. Furthermore, I'm not sure noise isolation can be improved with the right set of ear pads.
4. Lastly, there is a version of IE8 called IE8i which has Iphone controls. IE8i also comes with more accessories like foam earpads. Amazon actually has the IE8i cheaper than the IE8. I'm not sure if there are other difference between the 2.
GR07 is $150 cheaper than the other 2 choices which is also an important consideration.
