The next generation pro-DJ headphones have arrived as Pioneer DJ launches the HDJ-2000MK2: with optimised audio quality, enhanced sound isolation, ultimate comfort and an even more robust build to withstand the rigours of professional use.

The flagship HDJ-2000s have been the pro-DJ’s choice for more than six years thanks to their superb sound separation, from deep bass to crisp trebles. The HDJ-2000MK2s take on board DJs’ feedback and adopt new low-volume air chambers and airtight stitching to deliver the pristine sound needed for monitoring in the loudest clubs.

Available in black or silver, the HDJ-2000MK2s maintain their predecessor’s classic look and premium, robust build. DJs’ comfort is assured during even marathon sets; the ear pads feature urethane memory foam ear pads and leather-feel covers, while a lightweight, adjustable headband and rotatable housings support multiple monitoring styles. Plus with a premium hard carry case, foldable structure and two detachable cords (coiled and straight), the HDJ-2000MK2 headphones are compact, portable and durable enough to fit the lifestyle of even the most demanding pro-DJ.

The HDJ-2000MK2 DJ headphones are available in black or silver from late February 2015 with a suggested price of $449.

Unmatched Sound Quality
The exceptional audio quality produced by the HDJ-2000MK2 comes from using large 50 mm drivers that can clearly and efficiently reproduce a wide spectrum of frequencies. The large drivers, combined with copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) voice coils, rare-earth magnets and 38μm-thick diaphragms, generate sounds with great accuracy and control with increased output in the lower bass region. With the HDJ-2000MK2, users can easily distinguish between vocals and instruments, such as kick and snare drums, making beat matching easier with less effort even in noisy environments.

Sound Isolation Design
The HDJ-2000MK2 is designed with Pioneer’s innovative sound-isolation chamber as part of its bass reflex port, which isolates low and mid frequencies in the 300 Hz to 1,600 Hz by as much as seven decibels compared to the original model, resulting in more defined mid-bass/mid-range response.

Refined New Looks
Much like its predecessor, the new HDJ-2000MK2 offers cosmetics that complement Pioneer’s high quality and performance with a sleek yet simple design. The model incorporates large ultra-comfortable low-resilience urethane memory foam ear pads to create a tight seal around the ears and significantly reduce external sounds. The urethane memory pads are finished in long-lasting protein leather for great feel and extended comfort.
The HDJ-2000MK2 features a flexible headband and hinges made of strong yet lightweight magnesium alloy to withstand the rigors of extended professional use. Each earpiece swivels up to 90 degrees and can be flipped around 180 degrees for one ear listening applications. In addition, the headphones features a quick connect single-sided cable for ease of use and convenience.

Additional Features:
  1. Foldable design for compact storage
  2. Included 1.2m single output curled cord and 1.6m straight woven sheathed cord with mini XLR connections
  3. Convenient low profile L-plug connector
  4. Adjustable headband
  5. Protective carrying case

Oooh, the mk1 has been in my DJ bag for years and still holding up strong (even after getting abused through a few mod cycles). I'm curious to hear the mk2, though I hope the street price is much lower than MSRP (especially since Canadian prices are worse).

I know these are due out next week but I'm surprised that there haven't been any reviews out yet. This could be The best set of closed cans to come out this year. I just picked up the first generation hdj-2000 and I am quite impressed so I'm hoping these are even better.

Is it bad that I want one just to see what kind of changes they've made? (that and I'd inevitably open it up and start modding again)
