Looking for custom cables half a year ago I came across Pine Tree Audio. I sent an email got a swift reply and ordered some cables. Great cables at affordable prices. I then ordered a speaker switch and once again, great product at a great price. I kept reading the reviews of the products and invested in some custom components that will be coming in over the next couple months. Super excited. A DAC, a tube preamp, a power conditioner, and I just sent in my favorite tube to have a headphone amp built specially around it.

My first of the custom products came in a few days ago. As I type this I am listening the the Pine Tree E-12 headphone amp. It’s amazing. One of the great values in audio I have come across. Hard to drive dynamics are great, hyper detailed planars like my HE1000stealth are near transcendent, the items I am listening to right now are fantastic. It’s such a great product that I find myself going back through all my headphones and iems listening to see what I’ll find. It’s one of those products that gracefully and effectively presents such a great realistic 3D soundstage and dynamic clarity that I hear moments in familiar songs that I never heard before. All for under $800. Moments like this finding products and companies like this is why I love HIFI. I’m excited to go over the next few weeks cycling in different DACs headphones and iems to see what happens. I just can’t believe there’s no fan thread there so I started one.

Anyone else part of the fan club? Anyone else have any Pine Tree products they want to share about? I hope together we can share our love for Pine Tree and have some fun conversations about what we are experiencing.

I am a huge fan of Pine Tree Audio. Jesse is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to work with, and super responsive. Almost all of my interconnects and power cables came from Pine Tree Audio, and their performance is top notch at very reasonable prices. Jesse also can make virtually any electronics you can dream up. He made custom linear power supplies for my Pro Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra and Pre Box S2 Digital, greatly improving their sonic performance. I recently worked with Jesse on custom, modular designed cables for my beloved Utopia OGs. Throughout the entire process, we collaborated on all aspects (braided wiring, sheathing, color, terminations, etc.), resulting in an exquisite finished product that I truly enjoy every time I listen. I can’t recommend him enough and encourage other Head-Fiers to check out Pine Tree Audio.

Yes! Pine tree is the best. I have some amazing custom stuff they're working one. One is a wild HDMI dac thing that will let me play ps5 and xmox series x at my desk while separating out the digital signal to a built in headphone amp/preamp/digital output to send to other dacs. No ides what to even call it but it's in the works. To imagine custom hifi gear being this inexpensive is nuts.

This is what Jesse sent me in terms of a description. It is the most powerful amp I have owned. Drives Planars hard at about 1 or 1 1/2 volume.....just silly strong. Those are lightbulbs. Not tubes.

The E-12 SuperMag
A truly specialized and ultra high powered version of the Model E-12 headphone amplifier, the E-12 SuperMag is designed for the most demanding headphone loads. Planar magnetic headphones, headphones with low sensitivity levels, and headphones with low impedances are no match for the power of the SuperMag. Like its predecessor, the E-12 SuperMag utilizes incandescent current sources and operates in pure Class A mode. The amplifier is fed by a linear regulated power supply for top performance.

I asked for info on it and this is what I got. Sorry if it is not more detailed.

Running a pair of Verum 1 headphones. I have not heard any sonic issues yet. The bass is damn near perfect and it goes down to the depths without pause. Just a powerful, clear amp.

Amazing. What Dac are you playing through it. I love his work. Pine Tree recently built an amp around my favorite tube, the RCA Reedbase 5692. It's an insane amp. I'll put photos up too. Also an OTL tube for my hard to drive headphones that uses only a single 6SN7 tube. They're the best.

Using the Soncoz mostly. It does fine. The Geshelli adds more everything but my speakers are better than the Verums so they get the better dac.

I do want to get a dac from them but it will have to wait until I sell some other gear. Else the wife kills me.

Pine Tree is just a sleeper custom king. The price to performance is awesome.

I do love my Pine Tree Super PCM dac but I do more often listen to the tube amps Jesse made me with my Geshelli Labs dac. I have the J3 at my desk and the J2s in the speaker room. His tube amps are really really powerful and I love that I can have the three gain options on the Geshelli dac.

Oh I have his Linear power unit for my Geshelli dac too. Nice piece of kit. Speaker stereo sounds realistic lol. I use the dirac minidsp flex too for dsp.

How much is the Dayzee? I see contact us about that on their website.

Email them. They're super nice. Depends on the options you pick. They'll give you a rundown.

The thing I think is so brilliant about it is that it connects to so many amps and sources. Right not I have a schiit Yggi OG in the headphone space in my listening area. I love love love and it connects to a few amps. I have it connected XLR to a huge wild headphone amp, rca to a more delicate headphone amp, and rca to a tube headphone amp all at the same time. The Dayzee gives a perfected version of the Geshelli sound out to even more amps and can also feed out a digital signal to another dac.

I have the Pine Tree Audio Super PCM dac. Its sublime in my opinion. Amazing. Simple, effective, beautiful. It is designed to feed out to only one source and that source needs to be RCA. I love it. Easily the most amazing RCA dac because it is designed to do that perfectly. The Dauzee and YggiOG are designed to be more of a hub for many amps. So the Dayzee could live in the living room, power my preamp for solid state speaker amps, my tube speaker integrated amp, and any headphone amp I want to pull in to the system and nothing would need to be disconnected. I love that. And if I have another dac I love I could feed the Geshelli sound digital signal into the other dac then that would be enhanced and send that out to a speaker or headphone amp. That's what is super inspiring to me.

Cool. I love that these two companies are in the USA.

Pine tree is like a mad scientist spot though. You dream it and they build it. I would not doubt that they could build a similiar dac.

Totally. So I'm a lifelong gamer. He's almost done with this wild HDMI dac/preamp/headphone amp passthrough thing so I can play my console games on my monitor with any headphones and amplifier. Never in a million years did I think something like that could happen. It was a total hail-mary thing and he was like "Hell yah I can make it."
