- snagged a barely used 80gig 5.5g ipod on ebay...just finished the diymod and dropped in a new, higher capacity battery.

If that iPhone is all that and some, then yeah...

It's a Contender for Portable Audio.

And if that sound quality is good, then a portable amp and the iPhone is about the best you can get. Forget about an mp3 player and phone. Just get the iPhone. Reduces the amount of equipment by a lot.
