Wow. When you said small, you meant it. What kind of plugs and cable did you use? I am going to have to make something similar soon, so these things are good to know.

Non-DIY plaugs, cut them open (remove housing) and you're left with a plug that has a inverted plug on the other side with soilder points. Cables are canare stripped of everything(!). Exactly 18 mm long, fits perfectly.

Go to some hardware store with a plumbing section and ask for some plumbing o-rings.
