I have my Palm (Clié TH55) cradle on top of my Polk RT5 for about two years now... no negative effect so far on the flash memory.

FWIW, I read earlier that the amount of magnitude it would take to funk with a flash drive from the outside would also be enough to violently rip all the iron in your bloodstream out of your body.

This is false. Flash memories are based on charge stored on floating gate transistors. They are not susceptible to erasure by magnetic fields.
