Thanks for the link.
Boy those prices are high. I didn't realize a peice of cable and a audio jack is worth $90.. any chance I could get the materials to build my own? Anyway, off to ebay my personal items so i can build money for things like this.. sigh.

You do have to remember that he does use some high-quality cable and not your average Radio Shack rated cables. Although whether or not it makes a difference depends on you. Depending on your taste though, why not start out with Audio Line Out's Ultra Thin Copper Dock, or their Bling Bling Dock. There's also Qables to look at if you choose to.

Good advice.

OGTL: The Bling Bling sounds great, but unfortunately it's sold out. The Ultra Thin Copper I haven't heard, but knowing Ken he wouldn't sell it if it didn't sound at least good.

Plus there are sometimes Audio Line Out LOD's available in our "Cables, Speakers, Tweaks, Accessories For Sale / Trade" forum.

The big improvement comes from using the line level outputs from your iPod instead of the headphone jack. Using higher grade cables will make for a greater improvement, but the biggest jump will be from no LOD to any LOD.

yes, you can build your own. their are sites that sell the dock connector by itself (again, check Qables). get some wire, a mini jack, sleeving and heat shrink and have at it.

Something I found at Best Buy for around $30... not sure the brand -- looking at the case it has a symbol that looks like backwards-C I O within a circle... anyone know?
