Quick question the team. Received my Pico amp.dac combo the other day and am blown away by the sound from them with my Ipod and AKG 701's. I connected it to my Macbook Pro this evening (after changing the settings to recognize the USB DAC rather than the soundcard), but no sound has come through to the headphones. I checked Itunes itself and there isn't any setting within that has to be changed to recognize the DAC. I'm using a cheapy wire from RS. It might affect the sq, but it should allow music to pass. Right? Am I missing something?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried to connect to another computer to make sure there isn't a problem with the Pico?

Try connecting the Pico before you open itunes, select in settings (my mac mini chooses it automatically once I connect it). Once connect, open itunes and see if it plays. I found with my pc notebook, if I disconnnect the Pico then reconnect it with itunes open, it won't play. I close and reopen itunes and it works.

I'm in Davie. If you can't get it working and don't have another computer to try, you are welcome to come by and try it on my mac mini.

So, what was the solution?
Might be helpful is someone else run into the same problem.

Enjoy the Pico!

I don't think he'll say. Defective user is my middle name so maybe I shouldn't talk

Atleast the Pico is in action.

Just a guess but I think the problem was he still had the iPod plugged into the Pico. Plugging a cable into the mini input automatically selects that as the input

D'OH Why didn't I think of that(I actually knew that too).

How many inches of snow so far Justin?

Actually, my pico has some issues too (or it may be my laptop). When I switch programs, say foobar2k to itunes, no sound comes out. Or, foobar2k then youtube etc.

If I just replug in the USB, it works fine. But I'm curious as to why this happens.

Yes, I have set the USB dac to be the only enabled audio device.

Proper way to set it up is to go to your system preferences, choose sound, and make sure the output tab points to the USB device. As Justin mentioned above, no other connections to the IPod but the USB cable.

I'd expect you'd have the same results with any plug-n-play USB audio

Done already. Does not fix the problem. Maybe it has to do with the fact that my laptop only has 2 usb ports, and one I use through a hub.
