Yeah, the cable situation is a trigger to me. I asked for a custom using an image on this Thread, it didnt work. I mainly only use IEMs and earbuds nowadays, so guess I'll just drop it.

Third party cable would be a game changer, preferably one that isn't the length of an Olympic swimming pool....

It wasn't meant for portable use. You need enough slack to move around your studio between consoles/computers, from your sofa/bed to your stereo system, to get up and dance.Third party cable would be a game changer, preferably one that isn't the length of an Olympic swimming pool....

Yeah I understand, would just be nice for the opportunity to buy/have a smaller cable. Not even 'portable' but something more reasonable to use for a desktop amp (which i assume many if not most of purchasers would be using). It wasn't meant for portable use. ...And I just want a cable that works but that seems difficult or impossible to find. I have also been through eBay and other places. I guess the only option is to put the headphones up for sale and hope someone with a balanced 4.4 trrrs amplifier buy them so they do not need the defective cable.

Points are well taken. Still, though, IMO a buyer of a $300. (thereabouts) item manufactured by an immense multinational corporation,It wasn't meant for portable use. You need enough slack to move around your studio between consoles/computers, from your sofa/bed to your stereo system, to get up and dance.
should feel confident that if a critical part breaks or fails, s/he can purchase a replacement (at least) from that immense multinational
with relative ease, and at a wallet-friendly price.
It's called "standing behind your product".
