Philips Fidelio X2?!

Even though it's possible, I no longer would want to EQ my X2's. I quite enjoy their sound signature now and wouldn't want to change anything about it.

With the right equipment these are a marvellous headphone.  Mine are burning in very nicely now.  With all this talk about Woox and Gibson and multiple versions flying back and forward from Amazon warehouses up and down the country - not a lot has been made that, like all headphones, they will sound far far better after a settling in period.

I don't think there is another headphone out there that respond to musical genre as much as these.  I listen to Rock and Classical and the x2s sound like a 'good' headphone.  But every time I put a dance/electronica track on I am blown away by them.  The levels of bass, imaging, presence and soundstage are everything I need.  If this kind of music is not to your tastes I urge you to give it a try now and see what your missing!

Can you give an example?

hey can somebody with an x2 which has trim peeling issues share a picture of how bad it is? i really been wanting the x2, even with its flaws, and im so built up like when i go to heaven and see my angel girlfriend for the first time after a lifetime of not having a girlfriend and wanting sex so bad im just gonna explode all over her, thats how i feel about the x2 and waiting for these QC issues from early december to be resolved.

even with all the defects, im not worried about the ink stains cus i hear that has been an issue forever with them

im not worried about the glue cus that can be cleaned up, and eventually im sure i may forget they are under my computer desk and after watching porn they will have those white stains on the ear pads anyways which i can clean

the only thing im worried about is trim peeling off and sound quality, cus obviously i can deal with these minor cosmetic issues but if it sounds wrong then its a complete waste. so is it true what phillips said that so far sound quality has remained true?

also how bad is the trimming peeling? can u just completely peel off the trimming and call it a "cleaner modified look" ?

i hope phillips gets its crap together, this must get really annoying for stores, especially locally owned non corporate small shops all around the world that are constantly having people come and open their brand new x2 boxes and then returning them and saying "oh its defective!!" but this is kinda why i was thinking about keeping my 650hds cus i dont think sennhesier would let **** like this slide, and iirc they had some issues with hd 558 years ago and they settled it in a matter of weeks, rather than make such a catastrophe that even amazon is lost in a time warp.

though this is not the first time in my life ive been screwed by gibson, they are like apple of the guitar world, their products suck, the way they treat their customers suck - yet people who have no knowledge about guitar and music say they are the best company on the planet.

With pleasure!  Here are two great examples that I was listening to last night.  I only know how to post the youtube of them so SQ wont be ideal but hopefully they should be enough to wet your appetite!

Other albums that sound particularly great through the x2s are the classics Leftfield - Leftism and the recent reissue of Underworlds - Second Toughest in the Infants

Personally I think you've just got to go for it, especially if it's someone like Amazon with fantastic customer support; and if it means buying three or four or five pairs until you receive a pair with no defects, then so be it. You'll never receive a "perfect" pair if you don't take a chance and continue to wait :)

I received mine last week, fully preparing myself to return them, but I got very lucky, as I'm sure a lot of people have given that we're only a small sample of those who have bought a pair.

It's worth the potential and short term headache, as they're incredible and sound and look beautiful.

Which HM5 pads do you have? I understand they can be a bit of a pain to get in and a fair bit of patience is needed, but I am tempted to give them a go out of curiosity. I do love the stock X2 earpads, a lot better than what I was expecting, ridiculously comfy too, but they love to pick up fluff and stuff.

Sorry I missed this last night in the flood of conversation that was going on!  The pads are the normal HM5 velours.  I posted about them here and here.

One magical playlist for the x2's is this one: https://open.spotify.com/user/kent1337/playlist/6IjDl5eRczFdgZkKYXhuHZ

Have been listening now for 3 days straight, man i love these headphones.
Had HD-650 with Asus stx, and these sound more like i want them to (hence no veil).
