But Rice, don't you use a headphone amp? I mean come'on, Discmans are portable units, they were never designed and meant to drive large headphones...

I got a chance to buy a D-100 for 20 bucks but I never did... cuz it doesn't even have Mega Bass... I can't stand sound without color... hehe no color is like eating white rice (hehe no pun intended)

I have to say d-515->rs-1 sounds pretty nice to these ears.

After recieving it, my pcdp itch was totally scratched. I did not expect that I could actually use it portably so that was a little bonus.

Still, if you haven't heard your headphones out of a good non-portable source, you are missing out on a lot.

Biggie.

It isn't totally bad, but it is inconsistent, the BEST cd player that you want, is one that can play all kinds of music with ease... The D25S can't

It IS good sounding when it wants to be, but its stubborn, and when it doesn't want to play nicely ~ it doesn't

Wow!

Four D555s... thats dedication!

What are the two Discmen on the bottom row, on the left? - both of those look potentially interesting
very_evil_smiley.gif

And the player between the 777 and 905, is that a D-J50?

Okay...

Serious question here inspired by Rice, how many of you would rather have a full sized headphone (CD1700) used through the headphone out as well as the line out?...

I'm going away for a couple of days, so it wouldn't be an immediate thing, but I could re-write the headphone out sections, using the CD1700s (in addition to, or instead of the D66)

...I have noticed a difference between the D66 and CD1700 results...

Okay I think I can name them all, from top to bottom, left to right:

D-Z555, D-E905, D-99, D-777,
D-Z555, D-25S, D-303, D-25S,
D-Z555, SL-XPS900, D-E01, SL-XPS900
D-Z555, D-35, XP3, D-35
D-335, (This one is hard, D-T??), WM-EX1HG (Respect Yo!), (Another hard one I don't know)

Hey check out the newspaper, I didn't know Saddam can read Chinese... lol!

Hey Duncan, do a thread dig, I've posted the D-J50 before... You'll be amazed at how thin that thing is, it's second to the D-EJ2000 I think in terms of thickness... It doesn't have a remote though...

I've been sent a Turbo D-25s. Comparison to Denon DCP-150 and one or two others, including stock unit, should appear sometime soon.
