Based on the qualities you are looking for, the RKV fits the bill to a tee. Too bad it is a bit above your stated budget.

I have an Eddie HD300, but will probably be going to an RKV.

I knew the PPX3 midrange would suit the DT 531 without hearing the Beyers but I can now confirm that the highs are sweet, with no harshness, and the bass is great. The DT 531's seem easier to drive than I thought they would be.

Groovaliser headphones + groovaliser amp = pure groove.

Bear in mind that I only have a couple of hours listening time with the DT 531's.

That and I expect to see your full impressions of the DT531 in the headphone section. Out of curiosity, do you have any other amps (no matter how inferior) you can test them out with for comparison?
