Oh my god I just had the same experience as OP, my friend and I headed back to my dorm after missing out on the Dethklok concert because it was full (don't ask me how Dethklok can put on a live concert, sadly I don't know D: ), and I offered to let him listen to the new Dethalbum on my MS-1s. So I hooked it up to my cmoy, plugged in teh line-out, and let him adjust the volume knob (I usually have the computer volume set to like 2 bars, very low). He turned the cmoy up all the way and said it was too quiet. I turned up the computer sound some more bars, and when he turned the knob again it sounded louder than a cellphone ringtone... Made me nervous, but after this thread, I'm less.

And your friend was LISTENING to it, with the headphone on his/her head at that level of volume?

He wasn't really listening to it, he was just testing them, like if they stayed clear at high volumes.

My question in my previous post was directed at kanamin BTW. His friend said it was too quiet...

i had a canamp and used them with the K701

they're fine, funny things is there was no clipping/distortion that i could hear when i tried it

you'll know if the driver is damaged trust me!
