I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has encountered this problem.

While trying to figure out why my DI only worked in the mornings for 15 minutes, I came to the conclusion that the clock is thrown out of spec based on the heat of the room. This isn't a ground breaking discovery since it it well known that oscillators vary in frequency based on temperature, but I was surprised to learn that the heat the DI generated plus a warm room is enough to 'break' the DI. I confirmed my hypothesis by placing an ice pack on the top of the DI and it has been solid since.

When I first received the DI, the clock was loose and bouncing around in the case, I won't if that somehow increased its temperature sensitivity.
