Very nice written bro , good work ,
How you compare the mids/vocals and sound stage with OH500 ?

OH500 owner here! Both soundstage and separation are amazing. I especially love the bass on OH500 too. Hearing that the OH800's bass lacks rumble might convince me not to upgrade and maybe look elsewhere. Curious if others can comment more on the OH500 vs 800 comparisons?

Yeah, due to moving from a hybrid to all-BA setup, you will lose some of the physicality in the sub-bass. But you do maintain a punchy mid-bass, the O800 is not lacking in the low-end for sure. The O800 also has a smoother and more coherent sound and more resolution and detail throughout, but it is a departure from the OH earphones in some senses. For a high-end model with a good soundstage, separation and sub-bass rumble, you might enjoy something like the new CFA Dorado.

Also, my old OH500 measurement for reference to above:

Thanks for this Ryan, just curious, do you have graphs for any of the other CA stuff like the Andro and Solaris?

Hey Tristy, I'll attach all my CFA measurements to this post for your reference and a few commonly requested comparison graphs. I'll probably work on a measurement section for my website as well where all my squiggles will be available. I think Crin is already doing a great job there that said!

Im currently with Blessing 2 review unit. OH800 clearly better in tonal balance. Smoother and more details at the same time. Now you know how good is OH800 tonal presentation :)

Awesome, thank you so much for this.

Pleasure is mine, hope it helps some readers here out!

Good comparison actually, many would not think to do this given the price difference, OH300/500 are more obvious competitors with their hybrid setup as well.

But I agree with you on this, the O800 is more behaved and refined in its presentation. I know many like the Blessing 2 and it is almost a marvel at the price, but I personally find it a bit intense. I find the O800 very likeable and am a fan of how it isn't at all detail-deficient despite being so smooth :)
