I already know of Cattylink, Timaudio, Ornec and China-HighEnd-HiFi, although some do not carry the MC84-C07 right now. I would like other suggestions as well as positive / negative recommendations regarding those already listed.

Anyone from EU or Asia ?

Skylab, are you saying that of all the 20+ tube (head and integrated) amps you've tested, the best budget one (sub $500) is the Mingda MC84-C07?

Ebay is generally good, except the MC84-C07 is rare and they can feature higher prices than specialized dealers (100$ for a 6 kg amp etc.).

So I'm still waiting for opinions on those dealers and possibly suggestions about other companies.

When used with high-impedance headphones, yes.

2x Skylab above............particularly when you put good NOS tube selections in it.

Would y'all recommend the HD650 with it [C07]?

I'm not a HD650 person so can't be useful to you - I use it for modded k340, and dt990 600 ohm. The only restriction would be if you are using eg. 80ohm Darths or one of the Grado - there would be some hum with those 'phones.

I've been fluctuating between the k701s and the HD650s for a couple weeks now, and I'm worried of a hum occurring with the k701s due to their low impedance. However, I've also heard that they're very difficult to drive, so I'm kind of lost... At this point I'm strongly HD650, because my source isn't that great (not bad, just not very analytical).

I wouldn't think this a good choice for the AKG. There have been some nice things said about matching k701 with KICAS Caliente............ I'm mainly a Beyer and Grado guy. Oh, if you somehow end up with a Caliente - you should hear it via a Pico dac............very nice things happen when those two are together.

Agree - I had hum problems using the Ming-Da with headphones in the impedance range of the K701. If you plan to get headphones to use with it, go with the Senns (or become a Beyer guy like BushGuy and me

)

Well I was looking for recommendations on the various Ming-Da dealers from China and HK that I listed - Cattylink, Timaudio, Ornec or China-HighEnd-HiFi. Which is more serious, which ships better (esp. to EU), who has the better commercial and support policies ? I am interested in purchasing from China / HK direct to EU.

Also, if there are other Ming-Da dealers as good or better, I would like to know about them.
