ORA GrapheneQ - The world's first Graphene driver headphone

Ever tried to melt wood my guy? It's a form of plastic/epoxy. Call it what you want.

I have $300 in this and yet your knighthood is getting tiresome.

Just stating what the material is. It is actually made of real wood and fiber material that I'm sure has some resin or something to bond but it definitely isn't plastic.

Well damn. Joshua Valour’s review is pretty negative. Time to lower expectations:

I’m really surprised with the comments about resolution & frequency response since they were so well detailed through measurements. The updates even noted tuning the acoustics of the system. I just can’t imagine how that didn’t seem to work out in production. What a major bummer.

2 1/2 year wait for that? What a letdown. Looks like Kickstarter really kicked where it hurts.

A positive reviewer but this person isn't a headphone review specialist:

Yeah, that FR looks awesome...

I appreciate that he tells it like it is, like what he really thinks about it. There's too many wishy washy reviewers that don't tell you squat. I just saw his LS50 Wireless review, and agree that's it's a poor value.

Oh lawd that frequency response. No wonder.

Note to self: Just because they advertise exotic material, and claims bunch of scientists are on it, doesn't mean squat.

Cheers mate, I was confident it's not plastic but the liquid wood of the AQ Night series cans. It's a wood cellulose composite and that'll do nicely if my AQ headphones are anything to go by.

When did Headfi start worshipping charts?

Aren't we all supposed to trust our ears or something?
I think that's what Joshua did. Surely most of us would hear similar results? I don't think this comes down to a matter of taste or preference. That chart seems to dovetail what Joshua was describing.

Somehow I'm reminded of the Flare Audio Reference 1 headphones. Sounded odd and measured odd.

That chart is not these headphones. You can't get anything from that chart. That's showing a naked graphene driver and it's sensitivity. The only thing that chart is showing is it takes less power to drive graphene drivers then mylar. The only measurements are from ora themselves and it measures a Harmon curve.

Can we get the actual measurements? Or was it already posted? I'd like to at least see that.

Ora need to post them if they haven't done so. Also, if they can send a sample to Rtings to measure, we can see for ourselves a 3rd party's measurement as verification of the response.

I'm not blindly going into something because it's graphene or some scientists was on it.
