Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

For those of us who can't spend half the PM3 cost on a balanced cable, look into this one. I have it and it's nice. I use it in conjunction with the Drop balanced 2.5mm to XLR adapter and my LCX+SDAC combo.

The pic isn't correct, it's generic. Just pick "Oppo PM-3 3.5mm TRRS". It will come with a 3.5mm TRRS connector on the headphone end and a 2.5mm TRRS connector on the amp end. I believe he will change the connector on the amp end to something else, for example an XLR.
What kind of cable is this? silver or copper?

Hi, I had bought the Brainwavz Sheepskin leather angled ear pads and even that cracked within 1.5 years. Brainwavz Customer support in India, at the time of purchase, had mentioned that I wipe it with a dry cloth. It is within warranty - 2years , but they say that they can't replace it as its not a manufacturing defect. Disappointed with the support . I wonder if they are selling substandard items on Amazon India. I have seen that happen with some products on Amazon India and Amazon US seems better. At end of day, there are more reliable websites than Amazon. Disappointed with Brainwavz customer support and the durability of the product.

Treat it like a woman.

Just rub it gently and patiently. If it starts to peel off, you can rub harder.

Treat it like a woman.
Allow it to have 70¢ for every one of your dollars?

Fall asleep after sex and then get annoyed when it just wants to chat and cuddle?

Hold its hand in public, but then surreptitiously let go when you see another more attractive headphone?

Try it out, fall in love with it, take it home, introduce it to all of your friends and family, marry it; slowly begin to wonder why you no longer find it so exciting as you once did; secretly wonder if you're actually into speakers?

Truly loving a headphone is very difficult.

So I'm wondering whih brand cable you guys use with the Oppo PM3. I bought a 4.4mm Balanced cable for around $30 from eBay, one of the asian Earmax brand ones that were listed as compatible with the PM3 and was wondering what are your opinions on them compared with higher priced balanced cables.

Also which 4.4 balanced cable brand would you recommend? I'm looking to spend $200 max for a 4 feet 4.4mm balanced cable to use with my Lotoo DAP and PM3 headphones.

I use a CustomCans kimber braid cable with 2.5mm termination.
It's light weight and very flexible.

I'm also very satisfied with my other Forza AudioWorkz cables like the Noir Hybrid HPC.

Surf Cables is what I got for mine. I also got one from Moon Audio but it is so stiff it just about stands up by itself!

I had a Moon Audio black dragon cable at one time for my PM3s. The increase in sound quality (stage, depth, bass) was incredible but as you mentioned they were as stiff as PVC pipe.

I think my current cable is from Arctic Cables and it was in that sub $200 range, well made, very pliable and sounds great.

I do think just about anything other than the stock cables make a considerable improvement to the PM3s sound.

Thanks guys, beautiful cable you showed.

I went with a custom order from LGI Cables, excited for it and it was only $165. 4.4mm termination in black/grey braid
