Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up....  I just traded for a Woo WA7 on the forums and the PM-3 pair very well with it.  This is an outstanding little amp/DAC combo.  I like it a little better with my Yulong DA8 II connected compared to the WA7 DAC, but only by a small margin.

Just my 2 cents.

The WA7 is very good but how much did you get them for as this guys budget was way under that.

Found the LYR 2 at £400 but not sure How i'd plug it in to my d2x.

You can use this cable to connect it.  You will be double amping though which isn't recommended.  You may want to get an external dac.

I got it for really close to his 400 pound cost of the Lyr 2.  I traded though.

See I thought that but someone said the d2x was a good dac and i just needed a good amp. I originally asked the question ASUS ESSENCE ONE MUSES or Creative X7 then I was told to get a good amp instead.

Sorry to hear that.  If you told them you wanted to add an amp later, they gave you misguided advice.

The double amp will work but you may have unwanted results.  You won't know until you try it with your setup.  If I were you I would look for a really good deal on something like the Woo WA7.  I've seen them in the 420 pound range.  There are plenty of other options out there too in that price range.  A few that come to mind are the Grace Designs 9xx, Audio GD NFB 29, Ifi iDSD Micro, NAD D3020.

It was a while ago that I saw one in the UK. There is one on Audiogon, in the USA, that you could have shipped to a forwarding company. It's $600.

Maybe the Parasound ZDAC? Haven't Heard it myself, but it is well reviewed. Same can be said about the Chord Mojo. It is a portable solution, but agin seems very well reviewed

Almost an entire month later, my parts for my SE cable finally arrive from Lunashops.com

It's an 8 wire Silver & Copper cable with 3 pole connectors.

They fit the headphone fine. I just have to remember only order from Lunashops if I don't really need the product.

All in all, not a bad cable for $24.

very nice man!!! but wow a month.. that's quite the wait. Looks great though!
