Yes, I would agree, it is awkward to an extent, and also heavy so it wouldn't take much of an error to result in a drop. I'm extremely careful, but still worry. I may just spring for a case. I wonder what is cheaper, the Diginis, or the case offered on discount from pricejapan?

From what I've seen, there's not much price difference. Dignis has 3-5 days delviery to me down under while pricejapan takes a small eternity

I'm not sure this is the correct player update. when I go into the Google Play store I see Onkyo HF version 1.3.1 Is this the stock player installed on the DP-X1?

I don't see that app, sorry, all I can find by Onkyo is ONKYO HF and it is version 1.3.1. When I search for Music I can find players, but none of them say by Onkyo.

My DP-X1 automatically updated the application called "Music" by Onkyo Corporation version 1.0.3. OTA just like the firmwares.

Not yet I'm afraid. We need Tidal and Onkyo (fw) to update to allow it

Music app will be updated to v1.1.0 at end of this month with folder view.  You can try out the app at the Portaken audiophile event at Nakano tomorrow.
 
The PC music transfer program X-DAP Link will also be updated (I don't think anyone cares about this one though).
