Now yes, this is exactly what is stopping me from purchasing the Onix model. By the way, I canceled the order from HiFiGo because eight days have passed since I ordered them, they don't have stock even though they say it is their website. Nothing is coincidental, rather causal.CorrectDC07 PRO...
Mine arrived yesterday. Ordered june 14th, shipped june 15thNow yes, this is exactly what is stopping me from purchasing the Onix model. I completely agree with you . Before that I had dragonfly cobalt, it technically sounded worse, but there was more life in the music and I wanted to listen to it.All this hype around this dongle comes from the fact that it is said to perform better than much more expensive dongles. The hype was initiated by Andy who basically said it is perfect and gave it the best ranking out of all of the dongles he tested including Cayin RU7 and others. He also told me that it performs on par with iBasso DC Elite. He even said that it is better than desktop setup. Honestly, I don’t agree at all with him. It is a standard dongle that performs like any other dongle at this price. It lacks the fun factor and the musicality that can be found in other dongles. As I said, if this is what you are looking for then it is a good dongle, but most people like in your face sound with emphasis either in bass or treble
At least now I know that I don’t have the same preferences in sound as Andy and I will be careful when buying a dongle based on his review
Everyone have different tastes. For me Cobalt was horrible and I sold it in same day it arrived. It was expensive joke and I heard better dongles from Ali for around 10 USD. Onix is on much higher level. Smoothed from sharp edges in sound but that doesn't mean no life-no fun. Cobalt had mat expression in sound so for me was much more lifeless. Imho Andy's review about Onix is reliable. Onix is no wonder but at its price a very solid proposition. For my taste it chased away my previous fav dongles : Tanchjim Space and iBasso DC04 Pro by far.I completely agree with you . Before that I had dragonfly cobalt, it technically sounded worse, but there was more life in the music and I wanted to listen to it.
Now I have Onix it sounds better but I don't feel like listening to music at all. Paradox.
I shouldn't have sold cobalt
Is it turning on normally but didn't connect? Or is it didn't connect at all?Fidgeted with the LG G6 a bit. Enabling USB debugging mode did nothing for detection. Using the iBasso CB19 it works, using this Belkin otg+charger splitter it also works.
I used the cable from Fiio BTR7, got the same hiss. However, it depends on the sensitivity of the iems, more sensitive more hiss, and whether it's 4.4 or 3.5. 3.5 seems to be better. For the people who already have it and tried it on iPhones: do you get an audible high pitch hiss? I’ve tried 2 different otg usb lightning cables which don’t produce hiss on qudelix and fiio dongles but on Onyx it did. I believe this is somewhat fw implementation related as I’m not getting the hiss on usb c to usb c (tried to an android phone and my Mac computer) however I do also get the hiss with usb C to usb A cable to a regular computer.
Please share your experiences so we can maybe figure it out (and hopefully my device is not defective).
