Hahaha, those beers might be nice, but can't you Americans come up with some proper names for them?

The silly name trend seems to have started with our wines and carried over to beer.

And I'm quite proud of American micros. I was worried that it was just a fad back in the early '90s and would die out, but it seems to keep growing. If you find yourself on the other side of the pond, try a few. You'll find a lot to enjoy.

Our wines aren't too bad, either. I just wish they were still a bit "underground"; I remember when I could get an excellent Willamette Valley pinot noir for $8.

Ninkasi - Spring Reign Ale (6% ABV, IBUs 38)
- Nice light, fresh/dry hoppy aromatics & grains/malts
- Medium, slightly creamy mouthy feel
- Nice light crisp hops bitterness, light rich malts/grains .. kinda like Boston Lager IPA
- Slight bitter aftertaste .. not face twisting .. but a clean bitter aftertaste
- Recommend it for a slightly different hoppy IPA type.

Ninkasi - Believer Double Red Ale (6.9% ABV)
- Nice malty, sweet like aromatics
- Mmmmm .. yummy malty sweetish taste .. hint of hops
- Medium-smooth mouthy feel
- Similar aftertaste as initial
- I like this! Highly recommend 8/10

My brother graduated last weekend and my girlfriend got him a liter of Utenos Alus Porter. Really a nice smooth beer with a foamy head. Not quite as flavorful as I was hoping though. Still very enjoyable!

this is some seriously tasty stuff. No joke it smell just like the ice cream!

Oh man, that's got to be sweet! Do they have brewery tour's? matter of fact never mind the tour and see if they have a spare room to stay in over the weekend's, it would be Christmas every weekend! Now that's living!

- Wolf 7 (gold blond 7,4°)

- 2 Chimay's Blue (brown trappist 9°)

- 2 La Chouffe's (blonde 8°)

- 1 Brown Leffe from tap (brown beer 6.5°)

I've just had four imperial pints of Humboldt's Hemp Ale followed by two regular pints of Sam Adams.

Not absolute favorites, but flavorful and enjoyable.

I'll have to remember to down several pints of water so I'll be in reasonably good shape in the morning.

I had a La Trappe Isid'Or (or something along those lines) yesterday. Didn't like it, but I couldn't exactly put my finger on the part I didn't like.
