Honestly there are some really great stores around here in New Jersey. Several of the places around here have the best selections of anywhere I have ever been. Makes it very easy to get good beers from all around the world.

Lagunitas - Wilco Tango Foxtrot (What) Ale (7.8% ABV, OG 1.072, IBU 64.20)
- Flowery Fresh Hops & Rich Malty aromatics
- Light bodied mouthy feel, dark malty color, fairly light CO2 feel
- Mmmm .. Oooh .. Wow! Clean crisp hop bitterness (not face twist bitter), nice rich/robust malty taste
- Slight hop finish with the malts too
- OMG, wow, this is a great ale! 9/10

Given they are one of the highest output trappists, the Westmalles are very popular for import; I dont even need to visit a specialty store to find them.  The trick is finding Westvleteren   Though that's probably hard for everyone outside of your wonderful nation

Yep. They are easy to find and taste delicious. Great stuff. :)

it's even hard to get that in Holland, a country that shares borders with Belgium

I like Chimay and Orval the most from the real trappisten, don't know what it is, but there's something in those Westmalles Triple (I'm more of a triple than dark doubles guy) I don't like

I happen to have a bottle of the Westvleteren 12 sitting in my beer closet :D  cost me a pretty penny though ($25), but I'm so damned curious!

Agreed on the Westvleteren, isn't it only available within the monastery and in very limited quantity? It seems it would be easier to find a mystical unicorn than this fine brew.

Apparently you can try and phone in a reservation with the Abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren for a crate of Westvleteren 12 which will cost you about 38,00 euros or roughly $40 USD. This doesn't include a 12 euros empty bottle and crate deposit and you can only locally pick up your order.

Indeed - i think these days they limit you to a single crate per person.  Sadly (though luckily in my case), a great deal of these buyers re-sell them at insane markups

Tonight, La Trappe Isid'or - strong caramel and nectarines, perfect level of bitterness given the medium-full body, though lacking in complexity.  B+
