Hi
I just get my vali 2++ today
Without connecting to any source, I can hear hum sound on left channel only when I turn the volume up using both high gain and low gain
Is it a common problem or I should get repaired?
Is it new or did you get it used? If used, is the tube new? You can try reseating the tube, or even cleaning the pins a bit with Emory cloth / nail file / fine sandpaper and see if that helps.

More than likely it's the tube. Email Schiit, tell them what you're hearing and see what they say. Suggest they send you a new tube (rather than sending the amp back), and they probably will. What tube came with the amp? If it's Russian, the chance of interelement leakage is higher than US or Euro tubes, and high leakage can lead to exactly the problem you're describing.

Young grasshoppers, this is a question that I can only answer in person after you have made the 30 mile barefoot trek to my snowy mountaintop temple. Appointment required so as not to interrupt the virgins giving me my daily quantum-tunneling treatment.

Got in a GE 5670 + adaptor combo from tubedepot and it isn't working. No visible damage. How can I troubleshoot? I don't have any other tube amps or adaptors i can use to identify which element may be the cause, but the amp works with the stock tube.

If I'm looking at the right ad, the adapter is 6922 to 5670 - which is good for the earlier gen. Vali2. If the OP does have the Vali2++ then the adaptor is unnecessary and would explain why the tube won't work
