Official HIFIMAN HE1000 Impressions Thread

I listened to my HE-1000 V2 with iFi Pro iCan last night with some tracks by
toggling Xbass and 3D all together, and was surprised by its pleasant result.
The stage sense is improved and feel lively in the music.
One cannot get that with a closed cans, I guess.

Is there any one compare HEK with Stax SR-007/009?

Could not find any complete comparison any where.
i had ifi ican pro and ifi idsd pro as dac and with hifiman he1000v2 it was amazing. I sold my hugo tt2 as I missed a bit that fuller sound I got from ifi ican pro/ ifi dsd pro and I might re-purchase that combo again

I went to a friend who has Abyss TC 1266 and I loved hifiman he1000se and he1000 v1 more than the Abyss . Hifiman nails it for me across the range, bass, mids and high. While abyss to me was only better in the bass, but the mids had a bit harshness to them out the chord tt2 and mscaler

Of course I adore Hifiman he1000se and V1 much more than audeze lcd4 and audeze mx4 and lcd 4z

I can not find one headphone that tops hifiman he1000se or hifiman he1000v1 till this day, and what else is out there than Abyss TC 1266 to try. Oh man and the Rad 0 is just not great at all, almost lacking detail to the point I thought something is wrong with the headphone. From what I own/ owned ( see my gear list ) and what I auditioned nothing comes close to hifiman he1000se or v1

Do not let me get started about how bad the utopia sounded out of the chord tt2 and mscaler, it was lifeless and dull

How does the HE1000v2 rank in your order of preference or in comparison to the v1 and se?

all hifiman he1000 series are amazing, the V2 is leaning to more neutral side than the v1, and the SE is more resolving than the v2 its a league ahead of v2, so I decided to buy v1 as it has this warmer sound and the SE for its balanced neutral sound

I can agree that there's something special about that combo. Do you recall what settings you had engaged on Pro iCAN?

not really, but I think I used up sampling and tube+, so many options to choose from. But it was an amazing combo

Thanks. If our Pro range isn't with you any longer, I imagine you had to replace it with something literally out of this world then :D

Anybody knows where to get a replacement earpads for HE1000 V1? Doesn't have to be the original pad too as I actually like a full leather earpads instead of the original hybrid earpads.

Late response but did you end up going with either tube amp? I plugged my Aryas into a Manley Absolute at Canjam and I loved it. So buttery smooth and simply a joy to listen to.
This is an even later response, LOL. I’ve tried the Manley with my HEK V2, but it just doesn’t have enough juice to bring me to my usual listening level. The sound quality’s great, though. I then tried the Wells Audio Milo with the upgraded parts and the Violectric V281, both powerful and warm sounding amps. I went for the Milo because it let me connect more To the music; got my feet tapping and my head bobbing. The V281 just didn’t let me do that.

Did I mention that the Milo is powerful? It was so powerful that it fried my V2‘s left channel after an over enthusiastic listening session with Dire Straits’ Money for Nothing. The drive and bass just begs me just crank it up. So now I’ve got an SE and am enjoying my music even more.

No, I haven’t. Just with the HEK V2.

I’m not sure, but could it be that the Manley was fed by an inadequate DAC and a laptop? I clearly remembered that I’ve told the salesman that it wasn‘t loud enough for me. He then offered if I wanted a “proper DAC” to connect to the amp. I politely declined, as I have turned the volume control all the way up, and it just wasn’t enough for me. I then asked for a more powerful alternative amp, which led me to compare the 281 and the Milo. The difference was quite profound for me. I lost interest in the music with the 281, and got it right back with the Milo. I was interested with the 281 for quite a while, because of it being German made, the way it looks, the way it was configured (four amps-in-one, if I’m not mistaken), plus the attractive price. The Milo I’ve known only that day.

Thanks for your input. I've asked because I've heard some Manley's regular stereo components and liked them a lot.

Hi guys I am considering selling my HEKs as not using them anywhere near enough since a house move.
I have checked the usual places for some guidelines on what I could expect to get for them but they must not come up for sale very often as I cant seem to find a lot. They are in decent condition as I dont use HPs much , and are 5 years old. I am in the UK............any ideas for a reasonable price would be great and any guidance appreciated.

I always check hifishark sold/expired when I'm buying or selling gear to get a feel for what the current market pricing is.
