Short impression of port holes: They affect the amount of bass impact/strength/boom, as well as the high end. Midrange seems to be less affected, but at the same time, I pay little attention to the midrange. More holes plugged = More bass, less high end. The difference between 3 holes and no holes is significant, while a difference of 1 hole is more subtle. I'd like to save the rest for the actual review, so as to not colour other reviewer's perception of how they should sound.
 
Please tell me if your findings are totally different from mine.

i think it's a little high. Nickchen and the likes offer their hand-crafted wooden distancers for less and include felt. Shouldn't mass production be able to push the prize down?

Keep in mind that in general material wood is a less expensive material (yes there can be some really expensive woods)
If this was mass produced in Wood it would be significantly cheaper..

A bit high but then the carbon fiber distancers are the nicest I have ever seen. I think you should still include the inner felt though.
