Is Shawarma your buddy John? I'll prepare the cots!
Hahaha, reminds me of this:

Yes please let me know. And seriously anyone else who wants to hear the Master 11 let me know. You don't even have to listen to the ZMF's, just bring your favorite vintage of Porta-Pro! :happy_face1:

Koss PortaPro - ...with $4,000 worth of upstream gear, these things easily sound like $80 headphones.
Did you just call me a shawarma???!! Lol

Okay I need to google Shawarma What are we talking about here lol.
Just realized I DID get a picture of it!
One of the many highlights of the meet for me was listening to the MicroZOTL 2.0 amp. When I heard it it was running through the Chord Hugo and it sounded absolutely fantastic. It's a tube amp with BALLS as it digs deep and has a robust low end, fluid midrange and extended, resolving and "tube" like highs. It's pretty darn cool. I was worried upon looking at it and the specs that it may not have the power for the ZMF's, but it had tons to spare. I only got to 11 O'Clock or so for my med/high listening level. Pretty sweet stuff. Thanks for bringing it @saidentary!
Hifiman HE6 - I have heard these before off of my Ragnarok and I found my impressions to be similar to this previous session. I heard them for the first time at Overture Audio in Ann Arbor (wonderful place, by the way!) off both my Ragnarok and OA's Woo Audio WA5 and EF-6. I found that the HE-6 require and unnatural amount of power to reach adequate listening volumes and to sound their best. All three amps above have enough to power these headphones, but I will say that I like the Woo the most of the three. Off the Rag, the HE-6 have amazing speed and clarity. Dave played some of his metal (I don't usually listen to metal so I don't know the proper term for this particular type) through his Fiio X3 through the Rag for me. The HE-6 were able to reproduce the double bass and intricate guitar licks with ease. The cymbals were crisp and the bass deep. I can understand why so many people love these headphones. My only complaint is that the highs sometimes overpower everything else. This works well for acoustic songs, but can be a bit distracting with classical or metal. This also meant that they were a bit fatiguing for me. I will say that the amp synergy plays a huge part in making the HE-6 sound their best. I A/B'ed the HE-6 with the WA5 and my Rag at Overture Audio and found that the Woo seemed to solve all the 'issues' I had with the HE-6. They were still as fast and full off the WA5 as they were off the Rag, but the highs were tamed just enough to make them non-fatiguing to me. These are very, very good headphones that I'm a bit sad I never owned at any point in my headphone adventures. I think I will have to find a modded pair to compare to the stock version at some point.
Hey, those Stillpoints look pretty cool! Think I might try and pick up a set for my ZOTL2. Do you know what kind of Stillpoints those were? I can't tell from looking at the Stillpoints product page what kind to order
For you Zach. I recommend Naf Naf Grill. There's three locations in Downtown Chicago. Great Food, excellent Shawarma.

The one near me in the burbs tastes very salty to me. Pita inn on Dempster is more my taste
I came here to read meet impressions, and I leave with a yearning for middle eastern food.
Thanks for the write ups!
