You missed my point. It isn't just me. We have a whole group of people who need to do that. And that would be like herding cats. The troll needs to be removed. It won't stop by just me not responding.

We’ve (myself included) have been trying that approach for a decade. It clearly hasn’t worked in reducing the trolling. How about we try something different for a while - if it doesn’t work, you can always go back to our old model of endlessly engaging with trolls. A repeated response of “If you have any objective evidence or want to talk about how to gather it, happy to discuss. If not, you’re in the wrong subforum” would be far less entertaining for trolls than constantly engaging. After a few posts where no one takes the bait, most will move on.

As for worrying about “herding the cats”, I think we’re all capable of changing our approach without your oversight and find that analogy insulting. Perhaps a little focus on what you can do rather than what everyone else is capable of would be appropriate.

I don't think you see me at all. You have some image of me you are seeing.

No, I see you quite well. I see someone taking no personal responsibility and trying to deflect that onto others.

My analysis of the last month of posting here

50% - Trolling
40% - you responding to trolls
5%.- you complaining about others responding to trolls
5% - posts with actual content

I examined my posting history, realized I was part of the problem, and adjusted my approach. Are you really not able to give consideration to being a part of the problem and making adjustments to improve this community?

This has nothing to do with trolling. You changed all of a sudden.

We’re discussing trolls but it has nothing to do with trolling? Um, ok.

You are correct, I have changed my posting habits and no longer respond to trolls. Given that, I’ll stop responding to you as well

In all seriousness bigshot, you seem completely unwilling to address your participation and how it contributes to the trolling problem we have here. You do you, but it’s not a good look IMO.

OK. Whatever you have to do to be happy is fine. I hold no animosity to you at all, in fact I like you. I suspect there's something you aren't saying about why you turned so suddenly, but if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine too. Go forth and have fun.

Aww. I just found the Transcendental Scientific Journey thread. I missed that completely :(
Man. That would have been fun. What a lark.

Man. That would have been fun. What a lark.
Indeed, there were countless highlights, including extensive reliance on the “False Analogy” fallacy but the best bit for me was when he made-up his own definition of a troll:

a "troll" will be someone trying to derail our topics off-focus, or contradict statements with no scientific substantiation or arguments.

And then littered his responses with false statements and fallacies that had “no scientific substantiation or arguments”, so even by his own definition, he was a troll!

Now that’s funny! And it would have been fun/a lark (for a while) because we don’t often get the chance to argue with a troll who effectively admits it! Castle was right to close the thread though, the only place it could go is downhill and probably very rapidly.

Your post in the thread Holo Audio Spring R2R DAC was deleted. Reason: This thread is for subjective and personal impressions and comments. Please keep Sound Science arguments in Sound Science. Thank you.

Both typical and utterly ridiculous!

First of all, the OP of that thread is pretty much nothing except “sound science” measurements, doesn’t even mention any subjective or personal impressions or the desire to discuss any and it wasn’t deleted! And secondly, I didn’t make any “Sound Science arguments” anyway!!

All I did was point out most delta-sigma oversampling DACs use a handful of bits and a 256, 512 or 1024 oversampling rate, which isn’t a supported input format. That a NOS DAC does not produce the analogue sound of vinyl or reel to reel and that the invitation to read this kitsune article in post number #3899 by @BrainSalat was only good advice if either A. Someone wants a good laugh or, B. They don’t know much about digital audio and want to be mislead by an almost entirely false/incorrect article.

Not only was my post deleted but I’ve been banned from the thread. You’ve got to laugh!

Pointing out some well established facts and that an article is incorrect/false makes me a very bad boy and totally deserving of being banned for some unrelated, made-up “reason”! Lol

The content of our posts is irrelevant to the admins. The truth is, we are not allowed out of this group. Sound Science isn't the definition of this group. Banishment is. That's why I discuss music and other non-science topics in Sound Science. If my name pops up in a group it doesn't belong, I get banned.
