Obscure Chinese DAPs

F.AUDIO Firmwares :
T3 : T3_V8.3_20240131
FA4 : FA4_V8.1_20221207
I would like to know if there is a way to contact the developer responsible for F.Audio T3 firmware updates. It would be fantastic if a future update could add the ability to fast-forward and rewind within tracks by holding down the physical buttons on the left side (the ones currently used for track switching) and also allow pausing with a physical button.

This should not be too difficult to implement, and it would be extremely useful for blind control in a pocket without needing to turn on the screen. Without these functions, listening to audiobooks (and even music in some cases) becomes quite inconvenient.

I'll tell them if possible, but they don't change the functionality.

Upd: for T3 new FW v10.1
!!!!!ATTENTION!!! If after flashing screen is black (no logo, no picture) - flash by flashlight on screen, then go to settings and up brightness.

Added new firmares for T3. Many FW for F.Audio:

If need a FW for any F.Audio device - tell me :)

I'm curious, what type of operating system does the FA4 use? Is it comparable to HibyOS or Shanling's Mtouch, or is much simpler, like Zishan or Xduoo's?

The Shanling M0s sounds like crap. I still have an F20 in a drawer, and I know it sounds much better than the M0s. I'm using the M0s purely as a transport.

I beg to differ, the M0s sound absolutely fine, especially for the price.

Could you both state why? Con and pro, respectively? If you can use the sound from an iPod Classic as a barometer that would be handy in terms of comparison as I liked the way it sounds and its affordable/common spec.

Also is it true the M0s cannot accept commands from an inline remote to change tracks etc... without using the devices touchscreen? Quite an oversight if so.

Did someone try how these guys sound? The model is called Q8, but goes under different brands, was impressed for the specs as they can go as low as less than 40$ with a coupon on Ali.

It caught my interest because it has FM radio, so as a beater dap to take around for the price it might be interesting, but would be cool to know about it from someone who tried it already, especially how battery life is as it seems it doesn't have the biggest unit inside.
I wrote about this very same player here on the forum on Aug 2021.
I payed $12 on AliX. It didn't last 100 hours of use. the power ON button broke .
It was called X10 then, it's heavy metal brick . I keep on my desk just to fiddle with it
But more then 3 years past so maybe they got it better now.

Anyone heard about this new Xduoo X5 DAP?
https://hifigo.com/collections/new-arrival/products/xduoo-x5
Looks pretty bad on paper, poor battery life, lack of playback control buttons and Bluetooth 4.2, are we back in 2010? It's probably based on outdated X1000/X1600 Ingenic SoC too? Xduoo is 15 years behind competition like Cowon was before they went bankrupt.

12? wow! Are you sure is the same one? 12 for something able to support dsd256 and 24bit/192khz is quite remarkable despite QC big flaws, unseen I'd say, even more for 2021.

Indeed, no idea were they want to go with this one at 200$, a Shanling M1 Plus stomps it on every aspect and it's often available on the 160$ price range, given the audiophile world is a small niche of people which generally know what they buy I find it a nonsense product, probably made only to milk cash with some recycled components for some lovers of the brand before calling it a day.

I don't know that M20 has a long charge time .. for a 3000mah. Would like to see how the UI functions as well. But it is putting out some power. But I can see poorly designed button use. Double clicks on the volume instead of having dedicated Ff/Rv is mistake for a cheap savings.
