Probably not as good as the DT48, but still, interesting.

They could also be twice as good. 48 200ohm+48 200 ohm = 96 400 ohm

Oh what a find. Go for it! Vintage headphones are so cool!

I don't plan on buying it. I want someone else to. Preferably someone in the DT48 fan club.
A "half as good" DT48a is good enough for me!
These look like closed HD414s though.

Really interesting, but I'm notgoing to take one for the team this time.

I am, however, seriously thinking about taking one for the team with the Sennheiser HDA200. That's their audiometric headphone... one wonders if it might be a brother to the DT48.

Not to derail the thread - I hope a Head-Fi'er buys these so we can get more pictures, reviews and impressions. It'd be awesome if these found their way to a few meets.

I wonder if the HDA280 is any different than the HD280.

I think Duggeh should take one for the team.

Have you heard audio metric headphones before? Very different sounding. The a's better the e's in a lot of technical aspects. More resolving, detailed, higher fidelity, but sound 'weird.' But after listening to them for a few days straight your brain adjust to the sound, and sound 'normal'.. But going back to other headphones you will notice the lack of clarity and cleaness, fidelity, and the prstine detail retrivel.

I just stumbled upon the auction as well and later by some strange coincidence ended up reading this thread. They seem interesting, though rather flimsy. I'm not sure I should go for it, given I'm not part of the DT48 club(yet), but if the price is right and the shipping to Sweden not insanely high I might place a bet.

Do you guys randomally search the german ebay?

I've been looking for a web app or maybe a greasemoney script that allows me to search multiple ebays at once. Searching more than one is troublesome.

Yep, pretty much!

I've been looking for Sextetts and vintage DT880s/990s, and ebay.de is where they usually are for cheap. There is a K400 for 60 Euro. I'm tempted, but I'm looking for a fun headphone.

Are you still interested in the DT48a I bought for you?

OH YES, VERY MUCH!

I have the money. I'm trying to package it together with the LDIII I'm buy from Sladeophile. I just don't want to ask my dad to use his paypal account 2 different times.

I want a contrast to go along with it.

Only 5 days and 17 hours left!

It ends tomorrow at 1:40 PM Central time. I'm sure I'll forget all about this tomorrow, so I bumped this now. I know I'm being hypocritical by bumping this because I've said not to bump non for sale threads many times before, but this technically is a fs thread and benefits the buyer.

Those look very familiar. I am almost certain that they were used in the media library in my middle school in the early '70s!
