You have to go to nurorce.com and create a account to submit a ticket. They refunded me my HAP-100 :)

I'd probably try NuForce.com instead, but that's just me.

I'm still enjoying the DAC-100 with my Macbook and HD800 quite a bit in my bedroom rig.  If all I had was a DAC-100 and HD800 I'd be a happy camper.

Have any of you that find the magic with the DAC-100/HAP-100 and the HD800 combination, also tried an HD650 or HD600 with it? Just curious if the same synergy exists with them.

I borrowed an HD650 when I was writing my review and it does pair very well. Then again, the HD600/650 are generally quite amp friendly, whereas the HD800 is a fussy little bugger.

That was $695 well spent wouldn't you agree? man four months and it's kaput :/

I miss my UDH-100 :'( I like my HDP but the USB is just not the same and how it cuts out for half a second every now and then, I suppose because it is isochronous.

I've been thinking of a USB to SPDIF converter so I could use Coax into it instead of USB. Do any of you have the Nuforce one?

I have the spdif bridge in their upgraded power supply (the LPS-2U-192k). link
which I imagine would be very similar to their standalone converter: link

Personally, with the DAC-100 I thought it sounded better from the spdif inputs than it did the usb.

I wish nuforce would make a Quality DAC like the DAC-100 or UDH-100 but WITHOUT a volume control so I could use it straight into my Marantz 4400 or my other vintage amps and use them as the amps only. I thought the DAC-80 was it but it's got a volume control too... so far Schiit is about the only one that does not do that.

I don't see what the problem is - just turn the volume up all the way and you end up with a full scale signal, with zero attentuation.

Yeah pretty much, and it's digital attenuation so the signal doesn't even run through a pot which is the part most people worry about.
