Don't do that, you might want to toss the Superfreq at that point.

Should i drop $300 on these or wait for the new Music makers from Freq?

I currently use Super.fi 5 pro's directly to my IPOD classic.

Are these considerably better than the 5's?

The reason I was looking at Freqs was because thre 5's are very uncomfortable at times and pay more attention to the phones than the music.

you can get them for $470 at AMP3 (310 euros), but its still a hole in the pocket, anyone willing to pick them up and ship them to me, i would be more then thankful

I wouldn't mind, as long as I'm reimbursed for shipping. I drive by the post office everyday, so no big deal.

The TF's have amazing SQ... but the fit is exactly the same as the 5's. I found it quite unsatisfactory... so I've opted for some UE customs to retain the brilliant sound, but with comfort!

Here's my E500/TF10P shootout that ends with this conclusion:

Shure E500 vs UE Triple.fi 10 Pro - Threadbox.net

i would have jumped all over this deal when i was looking at buying super.fi 5 pro, but now that i have found superfreqs and live wires for such a competitive price and having much better comfort. I understand i can't resell Custom IEM but they are so much better in terms of fit and comfort to where i think i would enjoy it my music instead of fiddling with a seal.

You could also consider recabling the 5's. According to many it makes a massive difference.

Yes, thanks! I read your review a few days ago in the 'make-your-mind-up' stage! Very helpful -generally, I seem to prefer an Ety sound sig to Shure so TF10's seem to fit the bill with their clear treble etc. I'm just hoping the imaging and soundstaging is also wonderful!

Better soundstage/imaging than SE530 or ER4P.
