Could I get a date to try out? Weekends will be easier to arrange than weekdays. I'm aiming for a largeish space, with room for 8 large tables that can hold about 40 people.

During that time of year, I will be in Los Angeles, hopefully attending UCLA (if I get in that is). If not, I'll be attending USC... Either way, I "might" be able to go. How far is it to where ever you plan to host to Los Angeles? See, don't know ANYTHING about California except that it's about a 2000-mile swim from where I am now...

Certainly not I-5. Maybe US-101 or CA-1 but those are even longer routes.
