nokia 5800 xpressmusic sound quality

I actually use mine ampless and most of the time without eq through my sony ex500. I turn bass booster on when I feel I want more bass. Also, loudness tends to make songs a bit muddy and stereo widening makes mids sound a bit recessed so I have them off most of the time.

Just a heads up for anyone that cares, there is an app called folderplay which supports flac and various other formats.
It has a browse by folder layout, and a very fast (and very bland) interface.
Edit: you can now scrobble using the mobbler app which has just been updated to support s60v5.

I don't think so, I can only speak for 5800 and older models but the 5800 sounds a lot better than the older models and some newer ones as well.

Yes, I can confirm that. All Sony products have very good and powerful bass sound, yet clear treble... Especially if you use in-ear headphones....

Agree. My SE w910i made me stop using my iPod Touch due to its superior sound. However the S639F is even better than the W910i.

Bluetooth and superb doesn't go well together. Don't make a fool of yourself.

@Sparky191 This is a bit (way) off topic, but do you know of any good hi-fi stores around Dublin at all? I'm looking for a pair of porta-pros. And am i right in saying that nowhere sells grados in this county?

Fraid not. I have seen them, either in Peats, or Tower records or somewhere like that but it was a long time ago.

Peats didn't have them, tower records did though, €50 so no thanks.

Back on topic anyway... opera mobile beta has been released and when it works it's not half bad.
