as someone who works for a hospital, supporting those on the front lines (luckily from the safety of my home)...all I can say to you is that this is in poor taste, and I don’t think any of my coworkers, friends, or family would find this appropriate.

I think I made my points clear in an earlier post in the thread. Go take a look.
Your response is a bit jarring to say the least and I’m not going to engage in this any longer.

To be honest, we just wanted to give away a pair of Encores to spread a little joy in these rather bleak times. It is true that we are not experts on Facebook rules and I appreciate the reference to the Facebook TOS. Accordingly, we will be changing the giveaway to comply with Facebook rules and will be eliminating the requirement that three friends be tagged. It will take some time to get the graphics changed as the ad was boosted and approved by Facebook, and can't be edited during the boost period. Sorry to have offended so many here on Head-Fi.

dont get me wrong. I like the idea of helping in these times and participated in another raffle - here one person gets a great iem, and one company gets lots of leads and opportunities
this didnt sound to me like many people corona wise get a whole lot, except the excitement, if they are the lucky one winning

edit: next to this campaign not really being related to for many difficult times, it depending on tagging others, which I may or may not have asked previously, is very doubtful in my opinion. there is possibly a reason this is against fb terms

Yes, we are guilty of wanting to increase our social media presence while attempting to do a good deed as well. There was nothing nefarious about it, but obviously we screwed up in the implementation. We all live and learn. Interestingly, the FB response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Live and learn
Also read up on the rules around this sort of thing as sharing other peoples names without their consent for a raffle is quite a privacy issue.

Final edit; I suggest reading the TOS for the other sites you’re using as well if you are going to stick with the requirement to tag people on those sites.

I have not reviewed those, so I cannot speak to whether or not they allow this sort of tagging of others (which in essence is spam). They may not allow this and a simple google search or contacting these companies will provide you with the proper information and essentially prevent your business accounts from being reported and potentially taken down. Hope that helps.

Again, is nice you give away a nice piece of gear.
but you label it to be related to the corona crisis, and not to social media marketing (and in a way, tagging others unasked, that really is questionable)
nobody gets anything from it but one person winning it and you getting social media value.
the other raffle was donating to corona related things and I was happy to get 5 tickets not caring too much if I win.
Here I would get the chance without paying a cent, but ah well, I made my point

Hey, everybody, I checked it out and... yes! it turns out you can donate to a charity without it being a precondition for a raffle. In fact, nearly all charitable organizations are willing to except donations basically whenever and for whatever reason! Apparently, their reliance on boutique audio companies to organize fundraisers is incredibly small. For the most part, they just get money from people who recognize the importance of the cause in itself and don't have to be cajoled with prizes at all. What good news!

:unamused:

agreed. but then this here is „just“ a iem lottery you enter by giving away (against TOS) social media information, no charity.
why is it so hard to get?

Anyways, I am out, you just are not interested in this, you are into getting that iem. good luck.
