So, did they make 50 and call it quits?
Nope they will be releasing 50 more launch edition units some time soon after cj london, then releasing a general release set some time after at an unspecified date. General release sets won’t come with the gold ring, and likely will come with different packaging and cable, although not confirmed

The cable will still be Vanguard 2-wire. So sound wise nothing is changing. But we'll be changing the 24k gold-plated ring to a anodised gold ring. Also, packaging will be slimmed down. The round metal case will changed to something smaller fit the new packaging. All other accessories remain the same. Hope this clears things up.

As for availability, we are currently preparing the second batch of 50 to complete the launch edition. There will be limited stocks available after CanJam, the the remaining made available a few weeks after that. If you wish, do contact us to indicate you interest. We will be offering units to to those who indicated their interest, based on when you contacted us.

We will be at CanJam London this weekend. Do drop by to say hi if you're there!

The pre-order group buy was about 15 units, the remaining 35 went to retailers or were sold at launch. The batch that will be released end this month is a new batch.

Will you (either directly or through a distributor) be present at CanJam SoCal?
While I'm sure they'll officially answer this, my understanding is that they will be at CJ Socal. In fact, I'm looking forward to meeting them as one of the early buyers!

We plan to attend but we are still awaiting a reply from Head-Fi regarding the booth. Regardless, we will be in town to hang out with community and meet some old friends, so in the worst case we can host a meet-up.

Hey Chang, couple of questions if you're able to answer:

Will the regular version of the Singularity be cheaper compared to the launch one?

Also, will Elise Audio receive some more units or are the last ones exclusive to the Nightjar store?

Much appreciated ✨

Hi,

To the folks that own boths sets: between Singularity and Z1R, for Rock and Metal, which one do you find most suited ?
Or maybe some other set below $2k price range ?
I'm not looking to the most detailed set, but one that it's more energetic than my SR8 (that already handles the other part of my library (Jazz, J-pop) pretty well with a more "laid-back" tuning), I'm looking for a nice energetic and fun IEM for rock and metal, hope you guys can help me, maybe Singularity is the one ? Or should I look at other sets ?

Edit: maybe I should consider IE900 too ?

Exactly my take, I am also looking for a complementary IEM to relaxed yet detailed, SR8.
I've shortlisted Singularity, Neon Pro, DTE900 and Mest 3 for that spot for similar genres, but unable to pin point one. Do let me know if you decide @ma151.

Also if anyone has any valuable inputs. TIA

Take a look at Madoo.jp as well. 512 is more bassy but I am currently burning in 821 and so far rock/metal sounds more balanced and less muted than 512. Guitar strums, cymbal crashes, resolution much better on 821, but it needs much more power than 512 does. Both are fast, punchy, have excellent timbre, and have a thickness/lushness to the sound. Both also punch way above their respective price points in my view. I am still waiting on singularity so cant compare yet.

Ie600/900 also very good with 600 being the more exciting. But i found the treble on 600 a bit too energetic for my taste.

Price will remain the same. The launch edition specials were bonuses for early adopters!

Elise Audio will be receiving more units, but stocks are extremely limited for ourselves and both our retails. We are trying to be as fair as possible with the distribution, but if you would like to secure a unit with Elise Audio do get in touch with them!

Copied from my original impressions:

"Impacful but disciplined bass, great end to end extension (this is one of its strong suits-- usually single DDs drop the ball somewhat at one end of the other), timbre and coherence top knotch, and the overall tonality achieves a great balance for me. Upper mids and highs are airy and spacious, with enough meat in the lower mids and mid-bass for me (a common issue I have)."

Still loving this set after a couple weeks. Surprised to hear it described as "basshead"...the bass is indeed solid but this is by no means a basshead tuning to my ears. To me this is more of a mids set with great bass. YMMV there I guess.

Exactly my impressions. Mid centric IEM with excellent bass quality and just the right quantity. Haven't felt the need to cable roll yet. Which tips are you using?

Thanks, Nightjar, for including a cable that really doesn't need to be upgraded and might be fun to roll over to some other IEMs. Nightjar is first a cable designer, no? So, it's great to know you're getting a cable that's really up to the task with this buy! However, as I say that, I am really looking forward to trying the Vanguard 4w and Bifrost Bold soon!
