Looking at offers on aliexpress, I saw that there is a very cheap up-occ 5N silver-plated copper cable from the k-bear brand, has anyone tried this cable? is the brand trustworthy? For my NM2+.

I am nowhere near as adept at collecting and using coupons on AE yet. I still find it very confusing.

I have the black nylon covered 4 core KBEAR UPOCC cable (non-SPC) on my MEST. I like the cable a lot (it was approx. $45 when I ought it on sale). I was planning on getting the SPC version today, but decided to buy various pure silver cables instead. I really like KBEAR and NiceHCK cables a lot.

The NM2+ can be “piercing” under certain circumstances so as great as it is I wouldn’t recommend it for your stated preference. Just my two cents. From what others have said I think the Tri is your best bet if you’re running amped but if not then I would recommend the FiiO FH3.

The NM2+ can be “piercing” under certain circumstances so as great as it is I wouldn’t recommend it for your stated preference. Just my two cents. From what others have said I think the Tri is your best bet if you’re running amped but if not then I would recommend the FiiO FH3.

I agree with @KutuzovGambit. I would also avoid the ORIGINAL Shuoer Tape, because both the NM2+ and the Tape have a very pronounced upper midrange that can sound very shouty to some people. The recently relased Tape Pro is tuned differently, but we don’t really know how it sounds yet. I would also recommend the Tri i3 or the FiiO FH3, as they both have generous bass. The NF Audio IEM with the most bass is the NA2. It is very balanced sounding, and not harsh at all IMO. Soundstage and imaging are not nearly as good as on the NM2+, but detail retrieval is quite remarkable.

I tried looking up the specs but couldn’t find an output power rating. I would expect it to be fine but if you can get that number (balanced output likely higher) you could ask in the Tri thread for others opinion. I listen mostly on my phone which is the only reason I haven’t bought the i3 myself.
