Hi, has any one managed to get ANY portable DAC working with a nexus 6. Unsuccessfully tried with a e17k and looking for further options

Just for info. Tried this combination in local shop and seemed to work

I can report that the Meridian Explorer does NOT work with the Nexus 6. I'm in the same boat you are - wondering if I should sell my Meridian and get something that works with my phone, but the Meridian sounds so good from my laptop.

Fiio e18 and Opposed HA-2 both works fine on my nexus 6. Make sure you are using an otg cable

I use an iDSD Nano with my nexus 7, it should work with nexus 6 too.

I have a vague feeling my problem might be that I am using cheap "dollar store" level OTG cables..which one did you use? I am thinking of buying the hifime one (since they also make DACs I assume they know what they are doing). My issue seems to be that the nexus6 port is a bit different than other phones (this cable I have now fit into nexus7-2013, oneplus one and nexus5 perfectly fine). Not sure why nexus6 has a different port, the cable can't seem to go in all the way. Sometimes I can get it to charge the DAC but not play through it, ONCE in a while i can get sound through DAC.
 
I hope its just the cable

Yup using it with my nexus 6. Works fine out the box.

Just plug and play. Make sure you are using a USB otg cable.
