The upgrade bug has bitten me, now I'm curious where I should go from my Headfive. I enjoy the sound of the Headfive and pretty much would like more of the same, more detail and clarity in particular. My MS2is are my main headphone, so something that pairs well with them would be ideal. And I'm looking to spend $300-500. Thanks for the help.

Based on what you said, you should check out the Meier Corda Aria. More detail and clarity than the Headfive. Great amp.

I have the HeadFive and I'll agree X3, the Heed is more than the price would indicate, a definate upgrade in all aspects of its sonics presentation; With my 501s, 990s(05e) and 701s!

Why not move up the chain with something like the Corda HA-2 MkII? It's a good amp and it shares some DNA with the HeadFive.

The impedance of the MS2 is 32 ohms. Didn't someone say that the Heed starts to shine with higher impedance phones? I agree the Heed thread is big …

Ive heard that the heed is a little slow sounding and is not a great pair with grados

Paired with my 0404 USB, the Heed does not seem slow at all with my HD650s. It is MUCH faster than the Headfive (which I just shipped to its new owner).

Have you heard any of the gilmore amps? Just wondering how you think the heed and the gs1 or lite compare in terms of speed/truth of timbre and transparency
