Rechargeable battery types are the NW-E400 and 500 Series, but the NW-E100 Series need a dry cell.

sony isnt a big fan of making carry cases with their players. if these dont come with some sort of protector, the entire player could be quite exposed to scratches. i hope im wrong

I think the EX71 headphone case is perfect for small flash players. And it has a Sony tag on it.

I don't know if any of you even understand why the shuffle is a success.
It's not just for looks, it's the software!!!!
IF this sony player worked with something as simple and nice to use as iTunes or Windows Media Player 10, I would consider it. NOTICE that this stupid crap still uses the "optional" MP3 File Manager. That's how you get the MP3s from your PC to the player... and it adds a little encryption.

I wouldn't consider the shuffle a success. The iPod is successful, but not the shuffle.

UT - I agree!
This is typical of the Japanese Products: wonderful hardware; terrible software. It is too bad iTunes uses a proprietary DRM; pretty much forcing you to buy an iPod to use iTunes. But then again, I love my Mini!

True, sony's software blows, and blows it hard. But if they can just make it a simple drag and drop device they i see very few other things in the way of this thing that will keep it from being a success. SQ and software/drag-drop are the things that im watching for on this player, if the SQ is decent and there is some sort of decent software or drag and drop compatability then i will immediately pick up one of these.
