Hummm I don’t think Daps mentioned are upgrade…
Dx320 ?
Dx320 ?
I tested the RS6 with my ThieAudio Monarch Mk2 and I thought it was great value for the sound. It has an R2R DAC of you are ok with that.Hi. I’m looking for an upgrade from my sp1000m with normal streaming services. Will be great if someone gives me recommendations. Shanling m6 ultra? Fiio m15s? Sony zx707? Hiby r6p2? Smth else?

If you truly want an upgrade, and if you like AK's sound, why not consider an SP3K? Most of the mentioned players would either be downgrades or side grades. Over the years since I got my SP1K, I have bought 5 other TOTL players when they came out (Cayin N8, LPGT, DX300 MAX, M17, and WM1ZM2) but, to be honest, I haven't felt like I got any true upgrade, just different sound.Hi. Agree, after many daps like dx300, dx320 with different amps, Shanling M8, M9, Fiio M15s/M17, Kann Max, se300, sp2000t and some more, I still ended up with a used sp1000 and awaiting the pa10. There is something about AK flagship daps with AKM dacs that is hard to explain that gives me so much satisfaction when listening, being neutral and uncolored at the same time. Well there is some coloration in mids, with A&K liquidity but it still feels untouched and real. And recently I got a PA10 to pair with the SP1K. Now, that's a true upgrade in sound, I would say.
Following up on this issue from a while back. I recently turned on band steering on my Arris mesh router (tries to steer devices that support 5ghz to that band), and my SP1000 started rebooting constantly with wifi on. With wifi off, it's fine. Took some poking to find this previous post and realized this is the issue.I can confirm I have the same exact issue on my wifi connection that shares the same SSID for 2.5/5ghz. I assume this is the issue as it works fine on my backup internet connection where the 2.5ghz and 5ghz wifi have different SSIDs. Thank you for this info, I passed it onto the dev team as this looks to be what is causing the issue.
Maybe make your smartphone a hotspot and then connect your sp1000 to it. Ive tried 3 different smartphones with the sp1000 and have never had any issue. No freezing, no rebooting etc. Im quite shocked actually that a 6 years old dap works so flawlessly, at least in my case.Following up on this issue from a while back. I assume at this point A&K is no longer making new firmware for the SP1000? I'll turn band steering off but curious if this will ever be fixed.

Agree, this is still a very impressive dap and imho, no todays dap below 2-2,5k beats it. Big staging, full, very detailed and organic sound and great dynamics. There is a depth to the sound which can only be found in TOTL daps.slightly late but finally here is the Sp1000ss in beautiful condition
practically like new, the battery lasts over 9 hours
this is a beautiful dap, it sounds as good as it looks
together with Gl-amt16 creates a perfect combination
beautiful high tones (the Sp1000 ss is unmatched here)
natural tonality, large stage
I am very happy with the purchase and for only $800
in one word
Impressive!!!
I just wish it could run roon ARC.Agree, this is still a very impressive dap and imho, no todays dap below 2-2,5k beats it. Big staging, full, very detailed and organic sound and great dynamics. There is a depth to the sound which can only be found in TOTL daps.

Is there a list of devices ( also not from AK) which support Arc and are properly working? I wanted to see if there are some compact sized options with decent sound qualityI can't imagine that there is any chance that A&K will upgrade the SP1000M (and SP1000/SP2000) from Android 6 to Android 9, which is required for Roon ARC. I wish they would of course.
If you can find one an iPod Touch is very compact and runs ARC perfectly. I use one with my mojo as a dac. Of course the SP3000 works as well.Is there a list of devices ( also not from AK) which support Arc and are properly working?
