Is anyone familiar enough with the 240SS such that they could describe the tonal balance delta between it and the 1000 or 1000m?
Also if the soundstage would be any larger...
Thanks!

Much more clarity in the 1000SS. Wider soundstage in the 1000SS. Better treble in the 1000SS. Tighter bass in the 1000SS. Just a better overall delivery in the 1000SS. And I loved my 240SS. It was a big upgrade for me. I skipped the 380 series, so can't speak to that. I've never once worried about why I spent all that money for a 10000SS (since it arrived,- plenty of worry while waiting for it). If you are worried about upgrading, I'd recommend it. Keep in mind you may need to upgrade your iems/cables as well. My Silver Dragon cables, fantastic with the 240SS, got sibilant with the 1000SS. I sold my Angie and got a Zeus to take advantage of all the clarity coming from the 1000SS.
So, still a happy owner of the 240SS which I’ve had now since it first came out in the spring of 2015. What has changed has been my headphone collection: the addition of the Utopia and the D8000. The 240SS does not have enough power to drive either to its full capability, so my first thought was to get a portable amplifier such as the new Woo WA11 ($1,395) and use my 240SS as a transport, but I really like the idea of just having a DAP with enough power for the job.
My question is whether the SP1000 (I’d actually get the new 1000M Gold) has the power to properly drive high impedance and low sensitivity headphones. No, the Focal and final are not high impedance or have low sensitivity, but I’m thinking of the future in case I buy something that is.
Any thought about this would be greatly appreciated ...

I was interested in the 1000M gold too until I read that not only is the 1000M warmer than the 1000 but the gold is warmer still....

I love my SP1000M lapis blue with my Westone ES30. And westone is warm by nature I guess.

Interesting. Certainly warmer than the 1000SS, but warmer than the copper?

Good question. I don't know how much difference there is between the SS and the copper on the 1000, I only I've read that the M is warmer (and that was with the blue version) then someone said the new gold is warmer still.
I'm going nuts trying to decide on a model myself...

Hi I just gotten my ak sp1000 gold and i have 2 questions can anyone please help me, sorry if it had been asked before previously.
1) How to exit Spotify without keep pressing the back button?
2) How to update the Spotify app? I assume that there won't be any auto update function.

To exit the app just push the home button on the bottom of the screen. You can close the app via the pulldown menu after you are out of the app. This will completely shut down the app.

How do you like it?

Just my 2,
I don't even know that I'd qualify the sp1km blue as warm. I tried the Sony, that was warm and a bit heavy to my liking.
I'm using the sp1km with the CA Atlas, which are very honest and straight, and the match is magnificent.
You haven't mentioned what gear you'd use, but if you're into balance and SQ, it is really awesome quality for the price, endgame for me.
