New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000

I'm still having problems with certain albums skipping songs, even after reformatting to FAT32 and doing a manual scan. The same album will skip even on different cards and when I play it from my NAS via AK Connect. Occasionally, the SPKM will show the following message: "unplayable media has been moved". Has any one else gotten this message??
@rwelles Just confirmed with our software team that this is a bug in the current firmware. It will be fixed in the new firmware for the SP1000M released this week.

Hi,
I received my SP-1000M this morning. My previous DAP was Kann. All I can say is WAAAW, it's a totally different level of sound, much more detailed in all frequencies. The bass is meaty and well controlled. I also like the size factor. It was very difficult to go out with my Kann in my pocket. I assume that you face the same issue with SP-1000. So far, I am very happy

Congrats..at this cost and portability you are not missing much from heavy sp1000.

Anybody knows the burn in time recommended for this DAP?
What are the changes that i should wait after the burn in period?

Anyway it’s sound great out of the box :L3000:

It definitely benefits from burn-in. I think mine showed the most improvement in the first 50-80 hours.

The biggest benefit I noticed was the mids. They were too thin initially, and then got thicker over time. I’m confident I wasn’t imagining this, as I was comparing it to an AK120II as a reference, throughout the burn in process.

Congrats on your new purchase. People believe that sp1000 needs 100+ hour run-in, though there seems no officially recommended long burn-in time. Actually hardwares may not need a long-time run in. Even for speakers, B&W mentioned in their manuals that speakers may need 10+ hours to achieve the desired performance, and any perceived difference after that could be the listeners' subjective perception due to getting adapted to the sound signature of the product. So, just listen and enjoy.

Will there be a bug-fix-update for spk as well soon?
Yes, I believe so. I got a list of the changelog and bug fixes for the new firmware updates for all the players and the SP1000 was listed as one of the players for a few of the fixes. I don't know if it is coming at the same time as the SP1000M or will be delayed a few days. Waiting for confirmation on the SP1000.
