Jason has already stated that A&K never changes the sound with firmware:

Astell&Kern never changes the sound via a firmware update. All of our players are tuned on the hardware level and we will never alter the sound profile by software update. We may from time to time change the PRO EQ sound profile due to customer feedback and that would be listed in the changelog. Base sound with no EQ will sound the same no matter what firmware version you are on.

I'm unsure why we still occasionally see people claiming to hear any differences. On hindsight it's surreal to see that people were writing things like this in the past about AK players after a firmware update:

"Less warmth. More focus on mids/vocals as well as treble..... The presentation does seem to be more spacious as well...."

Got my SP1000 SS to replace my beloved AK380 last week, The WIFI's having issue since day one whenever it's connected via AK Connect or KEF Stream. The WIFI will just lose all signal and keep auto disconnecting after playing 1 song successfully. All devices are placed very close to the Router within the same room and all other devices have no WIFI issue at all. It didn't happen when I used the AK380 in the same way before at all... supposedly the SP1000 was set to always connect to WIFI. I'm very frustrated.

Disconnect wifi is special gift for sp1k.
Wifi antena is said bi-direction, but in facts I dont see any better than my previous AK.

No, nothing. The only difference is the possibility to add easily some applications and it is a hugue difference

I have 256GB sd card and 256 of dap. Off line tidal help me a way to use those storage.
Is that a DIFFERENCE? I almost dont need any GB if I have to continue w/o download capatible
