Here are my replies:

1) That WMC-NW010 is not a Line Out Dock (LOD) cable.  It is a line input cable.  This cable allows user to feed audio signal while using a noise reduction/cancelling function.  It is very useful for an in-flight entertainment.

2) Those noise cancelling headphones will only work with the Japanese Z as units from other regions do not come with noise canceling software.

Thank you!

With both the Z or F, the HE-500  showed only 25-30% of what it is capable of, with max volume.

Thank you for that, was curious about what other gear you have run the HE-500 on?

Thanks. What is a good app for it?

Actually, the stock app has VPT Surround (virtual surround sound), and also ClearBass and 5 band EQ that you can play with.  I don't actually use any of those though. I use PlayerPro.

Interesting... I was thinking of actually swapping my Heir 4.A for Heir 4.Ai.  You should consider the 4.Ai for $399... The CK100Pro is almost $500 on Amazon... but I just took a quick glance.

Also, to all interested in Hardware buttons on the "Z".  I was digging through the menus on PlayerPro... and it allowed me to map the Volume up and down to Previous and Next Track. A long press changes volume.  It's a start, and a good work around for us who want physical buttons but want to keep the Awesome sound of the "Z".
