Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

How does the M0 handle podcasts? Does it have a separate Podcasts menu option, and know how to handle them (including knowing to start where I left off, etc), or am I tasked with setting them up a certain way before importing them?

Not unlike any other music file. So no special support for it. There have been requests for audiobook functionality which probably could help with podcasts too.

Care to explain what stuff you have added and where to buy it? Looks like a very sturdy clip solution.

It is "Placeon" from KS, not that succesfull campaign, so they do not sell it anymore. But you may be glad if I change your life telling you, that one chinese company copied it and is selling it on Ali E as "Zeeker 2018 phone clip"

edit / it sticks quite well, but if you want to be 100% sure, use your own glue or secure it as I have done it with as small hole in MO cover as possible. But first try the direction in which it rotates to release it from the apparel clip before you stick phone clip on your DAP, or you will be tearing it off in no time to correct your mistake :)

@Shanling, any time limit to sort out the dsd dop issues ? does m0 output bit perfect digital out via usb ? also the connection between m0 and external dac is asynchronous ie dac pulls the data from m0 ?

Not sure about timing of DSD DOP fix.
Yes, it's bit-perfect.
Yes, Asynchronous.

so far m0 is extremely convenient to use as transport as it can sit easily over Hugo 2 and it can have very short usb cable which I ordered with m0. only thing the dsd64 in dop is not working properly so I doubt dsd128 will work . to me it's one of the limitations as I bought m0 as being extremely small yet could use dsd128 as dop. otherwise I have tab and pc which can feed dsd256 too but too cumbersome as transport .

DSD128 is limited to D2P due to CPU of M0. DSD256 is just too much, so not supported at all.

Okay i really can't understand why sometimes it can deliver audio without delay over usb and sometimes not. In my opinion it's issue with drivers to be honest. @Shanling could you tell us about this more?

You mean when using M0 as USB DAC with your computer? I didn't experience such problem. Did you manage to find any pattern for these problems on your PC?

I have one query - Do the filters make an impact when the unit is connected as USB DAC?

Filters only affects build in ESS Sabre DAC, has no impact on USB out.

@Shanling not at all. Seems completly random to me, but definitely more on delayed side. I'd say 95 times delayed 5 times not. Also when it's not delayed only lasts for some time. Even if I somehow swallow delays, it will stop transporting music randomly, and you have to disconnect and plug it back again.
It's definitely not problems with my USB ports, every other device works flawlessly, also there is no power saving option enabled. I don't understand why you are acting all surprised while asking about this when really some people already reported delay issues before. My case shows they it is indeed possible for M0 to deliver sound over USB with low delay, but pc drivers/software are problems.

My question was when using the M0 as USB DAC connected to my PC, do filters have an impact as I'm using the ESS chip of M0 in the process.

Yes, when using as USB DAC with computer, filters will have impact on sound.

Well, are you talking standard delay of M0(like 200 ms) or something more serious?
