Just a guess here, but the DAC should weigh approx. half of the weight of the power amp.

Actually that's the maneuvering equipment from a nuclear submarine.  Throttle control, reactor control and electric plant control, left to right.  I spent thousands of hours in front of each of those three units during the 70's and 80's...
