Only difference is different labeling and gold connectors, if you can fine a V6, save the money and go for it.

No thanks. Not a fan of the 7506, so if they have the same drivers and housing, I doubt I'd like the V6's. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

The MS-1 is based off of the SR series.

Question - is it safe to assume that the AD700 are more geared towards classical and the like, and D1001's are better for rock? Also, what sort of genre are the MS-1's best at?

What about Beyerdynamic 770's? They can be had for a very reasonable price on the sale forum usually? They isolate well, and you still have some money left over towards and amp. I'm just sayin'...

seems odd to rep grado with and off shoot brand. Like saying "Fraser" is the same thing a "Cheers" or say "Coors extra Gold" instead of "Coors Lite" Grado brand clearly sells more.

True, however, it appears to me that more people are recommending the MS-1 in this price range than the SR-80 right now. Also, the only Grados in this price range are the 80 and the 125, and FWIR the 125 is no good. Besides, this is why I have the "Other" option listed on the poll.

I have owned both the MS-1 and D1001... For rock i would def go for the MS-1, but for allround use the D1001 is better.

Despite the polls, I think I might go with the D1001, just because the MS-1 looks like #@%* (my opinion), and feels like it, too; and the AD700 probably doesn't have enough bass. Although the AD700 is tempting...

The Denon D1001s and the AT AD-700s are both great cans. The D1001s have mroe punchy bass and a smaller sounstage, and they are slightly more comfortable, while the AD-700s will have a more open and larger soundstage.

How many people have even heard all of them to even say whats the best?
I bet most people that voted may have heard a few, but not all the choices, but voted anyway, which is what happens on most polls, and i may also be guilty sometimes, but i didnt vote this time.
I love my M-Audio Q40, but i havent heard them all. Yet again, after hearing the Q-40, i may not have to hear them all...lol.
