And if you're referencing my stand, then the diameter of the top PVC pipe is about 1 inch. But you can make it as wide as you like depending on the diameter of the PVC you use.
If you make it one-sided then you could probably get it done under $10.
Hey, how wide is the opening at the "top" of this makeshift headphone stand? I see it's wide enough for the Senn HD 650 in your photo, but wondering if it will accommodate my Audeze LCD-2, with its wider band?

Thanks a lot to the OP for posting this! I bought one myself at the local Home Depot for ~10 bucks! Works great with my DT880s!!!

Here is mine with some closed cell foam for padding (low profile and it slips right under the lip):

Sorry, I meant the Rubbermaid one that started this thread. Audeze headband is 2 inches wide, wondering if there's enough room in the bracket on the Rubbermaid to accommodate.

Thanks for sharing your find, BluFalcon. For some reason, my friends think the "stand" is from IKEA.
It's working really well for 2 of mine and with enough space below the cups. Not liking it with the Grados though so I'll keep looking.

Don't you feel odd keeping $1200+ headphones on a $10 stand?

Fixed it for you. Haha.
And, I know what you mean, but, no, not really. Joe Grado stores his HP-1000s in a 1-gallon Ziplock bag when he's not using them.

Does anyone here know if the hook is big enough for audio technica's wing band to fit on it?

We have a contender to the hose hook! 12" high, rounded top, and able to hold 2 headphones? The only thing I really question is the stability. Needs a better base.

Well you seem to have responded a little too late haha... I've already ordered them so I guess now all I can do is hope that it works out. I have a pair of w1000x and ad700s. They should be arriving in the mail on wednesday so I'll let you know how it goes

I visited the local Tap Plastics today to have some amp covers and shelves made. They can do pretty much anything you can design/imagine. The stands below would be no problem for them. You could make them any length, change the radius of the curve under the headbands, or go with something completely different. The down side is that while the materials are not all that expensive the labor adds up fast, so not a cheap option. If you have the know how, you can buy only the material and build it yourself.
